  • Where are you located?
Our facility is located in east Austin, very close to the Austin Bergstrom Airport! Our address is 7509 FM 969 (East MLK Blvd.) Austin, TX 78724.
  • How is SkyBlue different from other boarding facilities?
SkyBlue provides one-on-one love and care for your pups! Both daycare and boarding dogs receive plenty of outdoor time in our spacious play yards and stay in large indoor/outdoor runs throughout the day and overnight. Please note we have a staff member that lives in the residence on the property.
  • What is required for my dog to stay at SkyBlue Kennels?
SkyBlue boarding and daycare requirements are as follows: While we do not require an evaluation day, we do recommend a day of daycare prior to a longer boarding stay, so your dog can get used to the routine and kennel environment. If you are unsure how your dog might act with our staff, we may require the person dropping off to stick around for a few minutes, to ensure our staff can safely handle and care for your dog! All dogs must be at least three months old to give them enough time to build up their immune system. All vaccinations – Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella* – must be current. Please have your vet email shot records prior to your dog’s stay. Self administered shots, such as those purchased from Tractor Supply, are not an acceptable form of vaccination. Current flea and heartworm prevention is required at all times. We highly recommend making reservations to hold a spot for your dog! *Bordetella (kennel cough) must be current or updated at least two days prior if administered intranasally and at least 5 days if administered with a needle, to take into account the incubation period to allow the vaccination to take effect.
  • What kind of dogs or breeds do you accept for dog daycare and boarding?
Your dog not social? No Problem! SkyBlue takes dogs of all breeds and sizes - we do not breed discriminate! We take dogs that don't socialize well with other dogs, as long as they are not aggressive towards our staff.
  • When can I drop off and pick up my dog(s)?
Our daycare hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am to 6:30pm. We offer boarding seven days a week. Boarding dogs can be dropped off or picked up any time during office hours. We do ask that you drop off your dog for boarding at least one hour before close, to allow us time to get your dog outside for a bit and get their run set up.
  • When and what will my dog(s) be fed?
SkyBlue dogs are fed up to twice a day, in the early morning and again in the early evening, unless otherwise instructed. If your dog has a sensitive stomach or is a newcomer to SkyBlue, we encourage you to bring your pet’s own food to help protect against stomach upset. Please be sure to label your food with feeding amounts in a ziplock bag or airtight container (many of our customers use pre-portioned baggies). If you do not bring your pet’s regular food, we will feed your dog a dry dog food at $2 per night per dog.
  • What happens if my pet is injured or becomes ill?
Our kennel staff is knowledgeable about canine first aid and is equipped to handle minor injuries. In the event of illness or serious injury, we will take your pet to your regular vet if possible or to an emergency care vet for immediate attention. SkyBlue assures that you will be notified if your dog is taken to the vet for any reason.
  • Do you offer discounted rates for multiple dogs?
We sure do! We understand that having multiple dogs can get pretty expensive and we’d like to help out. Please visit our Pricing page for more information.
  • May I leave toys or bedding with my dog?
Our overnight guests are welcome to bring bedding and toys, which can provide familiarity and relief for your dog while away from home. If you choose not to bring bedding, we will be sure to provide bedding at no extra charge!
  • What if I need to cancel or change a reservation?
SkyBlue prides itself on flexibility. We will never charge you for a reservation change or cancellation for a non-holiday visit, and you only pay for actual nights stayed. Thus, if you book a stay until Sunday and come back early for a Saturday pickup, you will not be charged for Saturday night. During holidays, we may take a 50% deposit to hold your reservation. We reserve the right to charge you for 100% of your stay during holidays if you do not cancel at least seven days prior to your drop off date. You will never be charged a fee for cancelling or changing a doggy daycare reservation.
  • Can I schedule a tour?
Absolutely! Call or email to set up a time that works best.
  • Do you take unaltered dogs?
Yes! We do not require dogs to be spayed or neutered to stay at our facility! Most of our dogs get solo playtime throughout the day. If playtime with a companion is applicable, we only pair unaltered dogs with altered dogs. Additionally, we always take personality and temperament into account if/when grouping any dogs together.
